Arash Farboud founded Farboud Ltd in 1999 and launched the Farboud GT, with a 2.8-litre twin-turbo V6, at the Autosport Show in Birmingham. The Farboud GTS followed in 2004. Chris Marsh, son of Marcos co-founder Jem Marsh, was licensed to develop it with a Ford V6 as the Farbio, and the design was eventually sold to Ginetta, where it became the Ginetta F400.
Farboud Ltd became the Arash Motor Company in 2006. Its AF10, shown in 2009 with a 7-litre Corvette V8, did not reach production, but a revised hybrid version was revealed in 2016 with a claimed 2,080 hp. The AF8, with a carbon and steel tubular chassis and a mid-mounted 7-litre V8, appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
Arash is an ultra-low-volume maker, building fewer than three cars a year and fewer than 80 in total. It is based in Newmarket, Suffolk, and has also set up a manufacturing facility in Bolton, Ontario, in Canada.
